Since this
week, the Kratiste - the world's first biodegradable climbing stick - is
available in the Novelty & Specialty product range of Waterdrinker. The
Kratiste is the result of a unique collaboration between supplier Ruplex,
various growers including CoBaplant, Plantanious and Persoon Potplanten, and Waterdrinker
as a wholesaler. We strongly believe in joining forces. Using each other's
expertise enables us to bring new, innovative products to the market so that we
can offer customers a beautiful and distinctive product.
The
development process of the Kratiste started in July 2021. After a successful
test in November, in which the first prototypes were presented in the GTC, the
climbing stick is now, April 2022, ready to conquer the market. The products of
Kratiste are compostable, which means that coconut, polypropylene and iron
camps no longer need to be used to tie the plant to the climbing stick. Besides
the positive impact of the raw materials, the environment also benefits from
the low transport movements of the climbing stick. The Kratiste is manufactured
in the Netherlands, after which the often Dutch growers prepare the products
for trade. This entire process is transparent and traceable.
The
climbing stick is incorporated in our Epipremnum aureum, Philodendron
aureum and Philodendron scandens and will soon also become available
separately in the GTC. The Kratiste offers the consumer supplemental added
value as they can continue tying the plant themselves thanks to the supplied
clips by clicking them into the pre-perforated holes. The Kratiste products
have a natural look & feel due to the tree bark structure and color, which
makes the overall picture of the plant even more beautiful. A
sustainable and elegant must-have!
